Registration General Overview
You can register online by midnight on Wednesday July 25th or you can register in person at the Park on Friday July 27th or early. on Saturday the 28th. Registration for more than one event is allowed; we scheduled the event start times to allow you to participate in all four events for one low fee. (For example, you could do the 20 mile ride at 7:00 am, Run the 5K or 10K race at 9:00 am, walk the 5K course at 10:00 am, enjoy the family fun ride at 11:00 am and watch your tots run the 1K kids run, diaper dash or toddler trot at 11:30 am.) You will only pay for one event (the highest fee). Both registration fees and pledges can be paid in person on the day of the event with check, cash, MasterCard or Visa.
Is there Pre-Event (Early) Packet Pickup?
Early registration, donation turn-in and packet pick up will be from 3:00-6:00 at Ft Steilacoom Park on Friday, July 27th.
Are kids free?
Kids 10 and under are always free but will require a guardian to sign a waiver for them to participate.
Do kids get a free T-shirt?
Kids 10 and under (essentially anyone who is not paying a registration fee) will need to pay $10.00 if they would like to receive an event T-Shirt.
Can I register for more than one event?

Teams
If creating a team online, start your team with one person, then add members later. Children 10 and under can be on a team, but you're only required to pay registration fees for those over ten years of age. You may add team members after registration; simply have them register under your team name online or mail-in registration. New team members will need to know the team name in order to add themselves to the team. There is no discount for registering as a team. Team members may register for different events.
Pledge Information
Pledges must be paid no later than October 31st, but you can definitely pay your pledges in advance. You can also turn in pledges when you pick up your packet. Pledges are not mandatory, and any individual with pledge money from $1 to $10,000 or more qualify for incentive prizes. Pledges are tax deductible, under 501(c)(3) Tax I.D. # 02-0732247. The registration fees are not counted against pledge/donation totals. We will accept registration, pledge, ticket & merchandise payments on Visa or MasterCard.
Prize level incentives will be made available from this link by April 1st. Any individual with pledge money from $1 to $10,000 or more qualify for incentive prizes.
BIKE RIDE
Where does the course begin/end?
The Start/Finish line of the course is at Ft Steilacoom Park. Riders will exit the park and join one of 3 safe, scenic and challenging courses which build upon each other. Click the following links to see the routes: 21 mile 42 mile 70 mile
Are there suitable areas along the route for family members/friends to cheer on the bikers?
Yes. Great viewing points are located at the end of the race at event central.
What time do I have to begin the bike ride?
Registration opens at 6:30 am and closes at 9:00 am for the 21, 42 and 70 mile bikers. Pancake breakfast begins at 6:00 am. The courses open at 7:00 am. ALL BIKE COURSES CLOSE AT 1:00 pm. The FUN 4US Finish Line Festival ends at 1:30 pm. Music, free massages and food will continue until 2:00 pm.
Safety information for ride
Child carriers are permitted, so long as they are ANSI certified and your child is properly fitted with a helmet. You can tow your child on the ride (using a tag-along, Burley-type cart or rear-mounted child carrier). Uncertified towing will not be permitted (i.e. Red Flyer wagons, soapbox carts, etc). Riders must be 16 years old or older to ride any of the courses without adult supervision. Helmets are required for all riders. Nurse volunteers will be present at Ft Steilacoom Park. We will have SAG (Supply and Gears) vehicles driving loops along every segment of the ride as well as two rest stops.
Course Information for ride
All 3 courses are moderately hilly.
21 mile has 500 feet of elev gain.
42 mile has 1,000 feet of elev gain.
70 mile has 1,500 feet of elev gain.
Will the 4-mile route in Ft Steilacoom Park be closed to vehicular traffic?
Yes and no. Portions of the 4-mile family fun ride will take place on paved paths that will be closed to vehicles (please exercise caution as pedestrians and other nature lovers will be out enjoying the vehicle-free environs). A small portion of the ride will exit the park along the main drive and enter a quiet neighborhood street before re-entering the park. See the route here.

Is the run a race?
Yes. Both the 5k & 10k are timed races. The 5K is USATF certified.
What are the run and walk routes?

Are there rest stops on the Run/Walk Courses?
There will be two refreshment stops providing sports drinks and water for the run/walk.
Can I run with a stroller or dog?
Yes. But please know the following: 1. A significant portion of the runs are on a trail; 2. Plan on starting at the back of the pack so as not to impede other runners.
If you plan on bringing a dog, keep in mind: 1. The dog must be on a leash at all times; 2. Clean up your doggie's messes.
When do the run/walk courses close?
All run/walk courses close at 12:00 pm.
FAMILY FUN EVENT INFO
Will day-care be provided?
No. The Family Fun Event presumes that while either parent is riding a long-distance ride the remaining spouse/relative remains behind to walk, run or just have fun with the kids. We recommend that parents have a trusted, responsible family member or friend supervise their children on what will be a truly memorable Family Fun Day.
Who is allowed on the inflatables? Will there be supervision?
Adults and kids are both welcome to the inflatables. We also have a toddler fun tent with all sorts of toddler-friendly activities. Highly responsible and dedicated volunteers (2 per inflatable) will ensure your kids have fun and play safe.
Is the Family Fun Festival Free?
Yes. The Family Fun Festival is free; however, all participants must sign a waiver and receive a hand stamp to participate on the inflatables, climbing wall or run in the races.
Is there food provided, and can I bring my own food?
Other than the free pancake breakfast from 6:00 am - 10:00 am, there will be no free food at the Family Fun Day Event. 4US food vendors will be present selling a variety of American fare at reasonable prices. Also, our bike routes pass local delis and restaurants and convenience stores so make sure to pack some cash.
You are welcome to bring your own food.

What are the provisions if it rains?
All events and activities proceed rain or shine. We live in Washington!
Where can I park?
There is parking for 1,000 vehicles within a 1/4 mile walk of the main event area at Ft Steilacoom Park. There is handicap parking as well as an event drop off lot right next to the registrations tent and Family Fun Area. Volunteer parking assistants will be on duty.
Merchandise Information
Our merchandise includes head gear, water bottles, T-Shirts (cotton and Hi-Tech), coffee tumbler, duffel, hoodies, polo shirt, bib shorts, computer travel brief, rain jackets, parka, golf jacket and iPod Nanos. We will have limited availability of jerseys in stock for the day of the event. It will be first come first served so please come by on FRI for pre-event package pickup. After we run out, presuming we have sufficient interest to justify an order for each respective item - we will order them for you and mail them to you by Thanksgiving. Event cotton tees are free to all paying participants. (Kids 10 & under get free registrations but must pay $10 for a tee shirt). Any other gifts will be considered based upon your pledged donations. Incentive prize awards are based on donations ranging from $1 - $10,000.
