KIMBERLY WENDT

Co-Founder & Flagship Registration Lead

Kim is a native of Milwaukee, WI and a diehard Green Bay Packer fan. Having grown up a cheesehead in Wisconsin, Kim still found it in her heart to marry her husband, Diego (a Vikings fan) after they met at the United States Air Force Academy. Initially, Kim's career centered around serving in the Air Force; first as an Intelligence Officer, and later as a pilot. Kim decided to leave active duty after her first child was born in 2003; however, she continues to serve as a part-time Fighter Officer for the Washington Air National Guard.

When she's not taking care of Diego and her four kids or working, Kim assists Diego with small tasks in the daily operations of the charity focusing most of her attention on running the Registration portion of the Flagship event. In her free time, she enjoys watching old movies, training for triathlons, and bumming around with her family.

BECKI RUTLEDGE

Donation/Registration Processing & Grant Writer

Raised in Lakewood, WA, Becki grew up in a Christian home as the daughter of a pastor. After marrying, and having three children, she became a volunteer at CareNet Pregnancy Center in order to help pregnant women in crisis.

It was through her work at CareNet where Becki was first introduced to 4US and became an active participant in the 4US flagship event. In her first year of participation, Becki became the first woman fundraising champion and was awarded a new road bike. Her resolve to become healthier resulted in a love for endurance events, long bike rides, half marathons and triathlons. In 2007, Becki became the Donations & Registration processor. As the donations processor for 4US, Becki is continually encouraged/blessed by each donation, those for thousands of dollars, and those for only two dollars. When Becki isn't busy being a mom or a 4US volunteer, she enjoys all things homemaking: cooking, baking, sewing, crafting, etc.

CYNDI STRATTON

Outreach Coordinator

Cyndi was born and raised in Colorado, and now lives with her husband and daughter in Puyallup, WA. Cyndi's concern for children stems from being a kid herself for the last 54 years and a public school teacher for 20 years. Several years ago, Cyndi's husband was nominated as a Board Member for the local pregnancy center while she volunteered her time as a primary care provider for her ailing mother-in-law: both of which tangibly addressed the issues surrounding the sanctity of human life. Cyndi found that volunteering with a charity to provide solutions to mothers in crisis while educating the masses in a fun and effective way was her calling. Cyndi is a lousy cook, but loves to encourage others. When she's not wearing the wife, Mom, friend, home-maker and part time band director hat, she is working with 4US, teaching at church, playing music, reading, walking in the woods, playing with their dogs - or sometimes enjoying many of the above activities at the same time.

JEFF MINCH

IT Support

Jeff was born and raised in Tacoma, Wash. and served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1987 to 1991. After the Army, Jeff attended Eugene Bible College, where he met his wife Sonja. They both graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Counseling.

After college, Jeff and Sonja moved to Iowa to help pastor a small church, but eventually missed the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Upon his return, Jeff worked as a care provider for mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults while studying for his Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator certification. He worked in a small computer shop for awhile and a few years later opened Pure Service, a small business IT consulting company. Jeff was first introduced to Diego Wendt at Care Net's 2007 Light and Life Banquet. Jeff was impressed by Diego's vision and passion for helping others. That same year, Jeff and his family participated in the flagship 4US event at Point Defiance. Heeding a call to help women in crisis make an informed decision about their unborn child's life, the following year Jeff offered to volunteer his services to the 4US organization. In Jeff's spare time, he and his wife can be found home schooling his three children or participating in church activities.

GREG SARGENT

Supply Coordinator

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Greg joined the Marine Corps in 1980 and spent six wonderful years serving the United States. Greg married his sweetheart, Lora, in 1982 and has three amazing kids. Many different roads led Greg to partner with the 4US organization.

Greg is an avid cyclist and started a ministry at his church called 'Bicycle Sunday'. Another road was that one of his children became pregnant at the age of 19 and went to Care Net for support and counseling. It was through this tumultuous event that his wife became a volunteer for a Care Net Pregnancy Center and he initially learned about 4US through an introduction facilitated by Care Net. Greg joined 4US as a Supply Coordinator. Care Net provides one of the most important tools needed to show their clients (such as my son and his girlfriend) the gift of life through ultrasound. So these are the roads that led me to 4US and as long as they need me I will be there to serve them. Doing something for God is easy...the hard part is doing what God wants you to do."

JILL GINN

Merchandise Coordinator

Jill is employed at a promotional advertising company that specializes in printed clothing and other logo items. She joined the 4US organization in late 2007 as their merchandise vendor supplying 4US with cool giveaways for their events.

After the appreciation luncheon in 2008, Jill realized her cause was not just on a professional level, but also on an emotional and spiritual level. As a baby, Jill was adopted and every day is thankful that her mom chose life for her unborn baby. Jill is committed to the 4US mission to see that every woman is given the option to choose life. In 2008, Jill joined the 4US team as the Merchandise Coordinator. In her spare time, Jill visits with friends and spends time with her teenager and her husband.

JOHN REICH

Flagship Volunteer Coordinator

John escaped the smog of California by enlisting in the US Army in the Fall of 1963. Following a tour of duty in Panama he headed northwest to new territories and worked at Boeing's Auburn plant just long enough to meet and steal away his future wife, Peggy.

A position with the railroad was his next job and, like Peggy, was also a keeper. A career began in Skykomish. WA and wrapped up thirty-four years later in Ft Worth, Texas. During those years, John and Peg raised three terrific and capable kids who have so far blessed them with thirteen grand kids. John retired early and enjoys time spent with family, volunteering through his church, reading, puttering around the yard and special volunteer activities such as the annual 4US flagship event at Point Defiance. He is privaleged, he says, for the opportunity 4US affords him to contribute to a cause he strongly supports and to do so working alongside people he both admires and enjoys.

DONNA MULLEN

Flagship Donations Coordinator

Donna graduated from the University of Puget Sound and the University of Washington and spent most of her teaching career with the Tacoma School District, with a three-year stint teaching in Lagos, Nigeria. She married her college sweetheart and raised three sons.

Leaving the inner-city teaching position was a tough transition because she knew that God had given her a love for these struggling teens. During that first year as a teacher, Donna completed the volunteer training program with the local Crisis Pregnancy Center (CPC). When Donna started her volunteer job of administering pregnancy tests, she was often greeted in the waiting room with, "Hey... Mrs. Mullen, what are you doing here?" Ten years later, she still volunteers and still greets former students. Her involvement with 4US stemmed from seeing the life-changing results of an ultrasound on an expectant mother. In her spare time, Donna can be found spending quality time with her ten grandchildren.

DEREK LUNDE

Marketing Strategist

As a product of the 80’s, Derek was raised on the fresh sea air of the Pacific Northwest and eventual rise of Seattle’s alternative music scene. After taking his life’s next step to study at Pacific Lutheran University in marketing strategy and economics, he began his career with a marketing agency focused on non-profit organizations.

His passion and drive for helping organizations thrive led him to be recruited by BCRA, a Tacoma, Wash. based design and engineering firm, to establish the firm’s marketing consulting studio in 2006. Today that studio supports many notable and diverse Pacific Northwest clients in marketing planning and strategy, market research management, branding, advertising, and public relations. Through BCRA’s sponsorship of 4US Derek grew to know about the charity and later led a pro-bono effort to re-brand them into the organization you see today. Since then, he has led a number of 4US marketing and outreach campaigns and continues to consult with the charity’s leadership to establish a national presence. When not caught nerding out on cool marketing stuff, Derek explores the wilderness and culinary delights of the Pacific Northwest with his amazing wife Laura, swings a 7-iron on occasion, and appreciates a vast and sometimes obscure music library.

RICH DENTON

Flagship Race Director & Route Coordinator

Born and raised in Torrington, CT. Rich spent 21 years in the US Air Force flying T-37’s, C-9s and C-17s. After retirement in 2008, Rich started working for Boeing flying the B737 B777 and most recently completed B787 training.

Rich was first introduced to Diego and Kim during the mid-90’s while they were all stationed at Scott AFB, IL. In 2005, they crossed paths again at McChord AFB, WA where Diego introduced Rich to 4US and recruited him as an event volunteer. Rich skipped on competing in a triathlon in order to spend several days helping in his first 4US event. He has become more and more involved in the event each year and is currently serving as the 4US Race Director. Rich has met the challenges of balancing major job and life changes with his commitment to the 4US organization. In his spare time, Rich can be found beating Diego in a triathlon, biking up Mt. Rainier, or spending time with his daughters Emily and Tori.
