History

4US began in response to a simple question about one of society's most politically charged topics: abortion.

While serving overseas in the United States military, Founders Diego and Kim Wendt found themselves in a conversation with a peer about abortion. It was then that they were challenged to take action.

Uninterested in the game of politics and understanding that this topic is very controversial, the Wendt’s sought out a way to get involved and make a real difference. After returning to the U.S. they met with Care Net Pregnancy Centers of Pierce County.

In just a short time visiting with Care Net volunteers and staff, Diego and Kim Wendt were met with an answer. Regardless of a person’s personal views on abortion, most agree that they should be rare. Likewise, history shows that the connection made between a pregnant woman and her baby during an ultrasound is an important step to keeping abortions rare. In fact, upon seeing tiny fingers and toes and being assured of receiving entirely free support as long as it was needed, 96% chose to deliver the baby.

Unfortunately, at the time, only 5% of the 2,000+ Crisis Pregnancy Centers across the U.S. had ultrasound machines. In an effort to begin equipping the other 95%, 4US was born.

In its infancy stages, 4US raised money solely through a one-day event. This flagship event included a Ride4US, Run4US, and Walk4US, and later added a motorcycle rally, music festival and events for the littlest of participants – a Toddler Trot and Diaper Dash.

TODAY

4US continues today as an all-volunteer charity poised for national growth. We raise money to supply the latest in ultrasound technology to our beneficiaries. To do this, our flagship event in Tacoma continues each year in addition to many other small fundraising efforts across the nation.

Learn how you can get involved and help us reach our goal of supplying 100% of ultrasound-ready Care Net, Life Choices, Crisis and affiliated pregnancy centers with machines.
